General Overview/Plot:
So Five Nights at Freddy’s is a Horror game made by Scott Cawthon which essentially revolves around a local kids pizzeria, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, that has party animatronics that come alive at night. You took a job at the pizzeria for five nights a week and the shift is from 12:00 am to 6:00 am. You work as a night guard so your stuck in this little office with two metal doors to the left and right of you, you also have a camera system to see different parts of the pizzeria, and you have limited power to use the doors. Your “mentor” or former night guard who worked at that location calls you in every night giving you tips on what to do to make sure you come out of the building alive. The animatronics start to come off the stage and walk throughout the pizzeria and try to get to your office and kill you. So your goal every night is to survive from 12:00 am to 6:00 am and try to make sure Freddy and his friends don’t kill you and stuff you in a spare suit.

(Freddy and his friends stuff you in a spare suit in the back room)
Gameplay:
When playing the game you have to survive 8 minutes and 55 seconds of hell as you scroll through all the cameras trying to find the very much alive animatronics. And the more you use the cameras, doors, and lights you loose power. The doors functions as a mechanic to stop the animatronics from getting into your room. Lights let you see if there is still any animatronics still outside your door. And you should know what cameras do. There are in total 4 (5) animatronics. There is Freddy the Bear, Chica the Chicken, Bonnie the Bunny, Foxy the Pirate Fox, and the secret Golden Freddy. Freddy can travel to any place in the pizzeria and any hall except the kitchen, Bonnie can only go in the main room and down the left hall way, Chica is the opposite with the hall way but she can go into the kitchen you can’t see her, and finally Foxy can only come out of his “Pirate cove” after a certain amount of time but he runs like a maniac down the left hall so you have to close your door very quick.
Review:
Five Nights at Freddy’s is a great thriller/horror game and also for a great price! The details for this game were really good for the time it was created and the lore to the game that leads into the next sequels/prequels is really good. Definitely something that makes you scared with the jump scares that come out of no where with no warning. So my overall rating is a 5 out of 5! Till next week, see ya!
Opinions from Peers/Friends:
“Five Nights at Freddy, a point-and-click survival horror video game that centers around a fictional pizzeria called “Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza” where-in the protagonist plays a security guard who must survive their shift that lasts from midnight to 6:00 a.m. without being attacked by the five animatronic animals that inhabit the facility. With a creepy tone, unique core mechanics, and extensive yet disturbing lore that has taken theorists years to puzzle together, the first Five Nights at Freddy’s game will go down in history among one of the greatest horror games to date. I particularly like the ease that the game has to put the player into the world with the very extensive attention to detail put into the lore, the pizzeria, and each individual animatronic. That’s unfortunately uncommon in modern games.” -Nick Luna
